Yoga Nidra for Sleep

Sometimes we experience the kind of tiredness that sleep does not fix, an exhausted nervous system that has forgotten how to truly let go. You lie down, you close your eyes, and somewhere between the sheets and the ceiling your mind keeps moving, your body stays braced, any dreams are filled with stress or wake you up constantly, and genuine rest remains just out of reach.

Yoga nidra is the practice of conscious rest, an ancient yogic technique that guides you into the threshold state between waking and sleeping, where the nervous system can completely release.

Unlike sleep, yoga nidra is a deliberate practice of conscious rest. You remain gently aware while the body drops into a state of profound relaxation, one that research suggests can be as restorative as several hours of deep sleep. The brainwaves slow, the stress hormones settle, the muscles release their habitual holding, and the nervous system receives permission to rest.

This recording is designed specifically to support the transition into sleep, guiding you through a body scan, breath awareness, and a slow withdrawal of the senses into stillness. It is particularly supportive for those navigating the sleep disruption of perimenopause, burnout, anxiety, or chronic nervous system activation.

You do not need to stay awake for it to work. In fact, drifting into sleep during the practice is perfectly welcome. Simply press play, get comfortable, and let the rest take care of itself.
