Yoga Therapy - What to Expect?

We will start with a consultation session (90 minutes). Prior to this session, you will complete an intake form which will give me general information about your reason for seeking out a yoga therapist, as well as general information about your health, well being and lifestyle. I will use resources from recent yoga therapy research, western medicine, and yogic systems to assist me in starting to develop practice ideas for you, based on your own unique health concerns.

The first half of the session, we will discuss your reason for visiting, and any other lifestyle factors that may be influencing your well being. During the second part of the session, we will move through some practices that might be helpful for you. Therapeutic yoga is very different to a regular yoga class. We will work together to find what types of movement or breathing practices suit you. We will use variety of the tools available from the ancient practice of yoga, like asana (postures), pranayama (breath practices), meditation, chanting (read more about the benefits of sound on the nervous system), and yoga nidra.

We will design a short take home practice together. We will create together a small ‘toolbox’ of resources for you, based on the science of yoga.

On-going or Follow up sessions (60mins) - We will review and discuss your symptoms or pain patterns. We will discuss your sucesses, or the things that didn’t work for you. We will continue to refine your bespoke practice, and give you more tools to add to your toolbox.

I recommend three sessions as a minimum, to help restore well being, and to give you tools to use in your daily life.

Investment for three initial sessions - $250 (1 x 90min session, 2 x 60minute sessions)

All sessions are always one to one.
